ABOUT SARAH
Sarah Kelly Hansen is a Milwaukee based artist creating paintings designed to elevate personal and professional spaces. Hansen holds a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD), where she also teaches as an Adjunct Instructor. She has continued her artistic development through the Milan Mastery Program.
Working in oil and mixed media, Hansen creates paintings inspired by botanical forms and sunlit environments. Her work sits between representation and abstraction, where recognizable natural forms soften into expressive shapes and color.
Her paintings have been exhibited at the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA), in galleries across the United States and Canada, and are held in private collections around the world.
From the Artist
“I’ve always been drawn to flowers. Growing up, my dad and I spent our summers in the garden, where each year I was tasked with curating the colors of what we’d plant. Moving between close observation and stepping back, I learned to notice things artfully. That way of seeing still fuels my creativity today.”
